      Eastman Credit Union is hiring a Dealer Direct Assistant. The ideal candidate would have experience in the accounting/business division of a dealership, the ability to build and maintain good working relationships, and handle themselves in a professional and customer oriented manner.       The Dealer Direct position performs the following functions:

      • Assist with the Dealer Direct Program by building and maintaining relationships with dealers, as well as enforce policies, guidelines, procedures, and processes to support profitable Dealer Direct program.
      • Process consumer loan applications received from the Dealer(s) via DealerTrack.
      • Scrutinize all loan applications received from dealers for funding, assuring it has met ECU’s criteria before buying the loan. Send back to dealers, loan applications that have not met ECU’s criteria.
      • Assure ECU retains control of lending process.
      • Monitor Dealer Direct Pending and Incomplete Queues in Velocity to ensure completeness prior to moving to Dealer Direct Central Underwriting Queue.
      • Be available to Dealers to discuss credit applications; communicate between Underwriters and Dealers.
      • Fund loans which are approved by System or Central Underwriters.
      • Ensure accuracy and completeness of each loan by completing the Dealer Direct Funding Checklist.
      • Review Velocity report daily to mail Pre-Qualification and Notice of Action Taken letters to meet regulatory requirements on notice.
      • Establish and maintain relationships with dealers, including routine visits to assure compliance and rapport.
      • Make routine follow up calls to members to verify vehicle options and sales contract terms on a random sampling basis.
      • Assist as needed with individual Dealer Monthly Review Reports and Dealer Monitoring Report to determine Dealer(s) are within ECU’s desired levels for participating in program.  
      • Resolve/assist with problem resolution/concerns from dealers and/or members.
      • Assist as needed with due diligence on dealerships initially added and annually thereafter.
      • Assist with Dealer Facilitation Fees and reserve accounts.
      • Provide input to assist in development of marketing concepts and pricing considerations.
      • Identify process improvement opportunities.
      • Assist with training dealership and ECU staff.
      • Explore ways to decrease expense structure and increase income.  
      • Ensure sound loan analysis through adherence to established lending practices, policies and guidelines.

       

      Associate's degree and one year related experience preferred.

      Scheduling Requirements

      This position works 40 hours per week and must be available to work a varying schedule Monday through Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Your schedule will change weekly based on business volume and need.
      This is a floating position between various branches. Employees will float within one, regional area based on their home location and region preference [i.e. Kingsport, Johnson City, North (Bristol/Blountville/Abingdon), and West (Greeneville/Mt. Carmel, Allandale, Rogersville/Gate City & Duffield/Texas)].

      Eastman Credit Union is seeking a Lending Center Assistant to assist during peak time lending season. The individual who is selected for this position will work a maximum of 950 hours per year with a full time schedule during periods of high loan volumes. This position will support our Lending Center by conducting loan interviews, preparing quality loan application, evaluating and analyzing credit, preparing loan documents and booking loans in a high volume call center environment.

       

      The Lending Center Assistant will have a thorough understanding of all Credit Union processes, products and services. The primary roles of the position are to originate, process and book consumer loan applications via phone or online channels from ECU members and non-members. The Lending Center assistant is expected to cross train and maintain a working knowledge of each of these roles. Daily assignments will fluctuate based on business need. Each of these roles require the ability to work independently with excellent organizational and member service skills in a high volume call center environment. This is accomplished by monitoring call boards, various queues, and various methods of correspondence (i.e. phone, voicemail, email, and text messaging).
