ECU Cuts Ribbon in Piney Flats

    May 23, 2019

KINGSPORT - Eastman Credit Union (ECU) conducted a ceremonial ribbon cutting on Wednesday, May 22nd at their newest branch in Piney Flats.

“Each branch we open is exciting, because we build new relationships.  We have transformed this branch into a full-service facility that we feel confident will meet the needs of our current and future members in this area,” said ECU president and CEO, Olan Jones.

ECU goes above and beyond to exceed member expectations, and the staff at the Piney Flats location will be no exception.  Smiling faces and individualized service will greet each member as they take advantage of ECU’s teller services, free checking account, certificates, and various loan products.  In addition, the drive-thru teller, drive-thru ATM, new safe deposit boxes, and night depository will add another level of convenience.

“We encourage you to take some time to talk with our staff and understand the difference that ECU can make in your life.  We find that people don’t fully realize all the ways ECU can save them money.  For instance, our checking account is totally free and doesn’t have a minimum balance requirement, and we don’t charge our members for checks.  Our goal is to help members with their financial needs, and it’s our pleasure to assist them on that journey,” said ECU Executive Vice President, Kelly Price.

Whether you are looking for a branch connection or you need mobile banking for 24/7 access, ECU’s level of service continues to exceed expectations. Recently, ECU’s emphasis on service received recognition with two accolades in late 2018.  ECU’s Mystery Shop provider named the credit union Top Performer in the areas of competitive comparison, referral ratings, and emotional connection.  Also, ECU received a first place designation among the nation’s top 100 banks and credit unions in an independent review of Google Play and iTune app reviews.

The new branch is located at 5928 Hwy 11E.  ECU membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships, attends school, or owns a business in Sullivan or Washington Counties or in Elizabethton.

Eastman Credit Union has been steadfast at members’ sides for almost 85 years, helping them build strong financial foundations. Because ECU is a not-for-profit financial institution, profits earned by ECU are returned to members through lower loan rates, better products, fewer fees, and consistently competitive deposit rates.  Since 1998, ECU has given back a total of over $118 million to members in the form of an Extraordinary Dividend, which members receive for doing business at ECU.
