Visa® Feature Details

Platinum Preferred Rewards Program
This program allows ECU Platinum Preferred cardholders to earn one point for each dollar charged on their card in purchases. The points may be cashed in at the cardholder’s convenience for merchandise, airline tickets, or other travel discounts. Members may call (800) 854.0790 or go to ScoreCard Rewards for assistance or reservations.

Cash Rewards Card Program
With the ECU Cash Rewards Visa, cardholders earn 1% cash back for every dollar spent (net purchases only).  The minimum redemption amount is $25 and all redemptions will be paid in increments of $25. Redemption of money through ScoreCard is online only; however, cardholder may contact ECU for assistance if this is not an option.

No Fees for a Cash Advance or Balance Transfer1
ECU Visa cardholders may get cash advances using their ECU card at ATM machines, Merchant Bank locations, and online banking at no additional cost. Balance transfers are easy! Members may simply transfer the funds by cash advance to their personal checking using our free 24/7 Internet account access.  During Balance Transfer special rate promotions, the Balance Transfer must be processed by ECU.

Free 24/7 Fraud Monitoring Service
ECU cardholder accounts are constantly monitored for suspicious or unusual card activity.  In the event this type of activity is identified, ECU's fraud service will attempt to contact the member using the available phone numbers (Ex. cell, home, work).  If they  are unable to contact the member, the card may be temporarily blocked until the transaction(s) can be verified as legitimate.  If the transaction is found to be fraudulent, the card will be blocked immediately.  For assistance regarding a blocked card or to report a lost or stolen card, call (800) 999.2328 or (423) 229.8200 anytime and choose the appropriate menu options.  To avoid the possible interruption of debit or credit card usage, please notify ECU before traveling.

Zero Liability Card Protection
Visa's Zero Liability has cardholders covered against transactions that occur through the Visa system that are fraudulent.  Therefore, ECU Visa cardholders can shop online or at merchants with comfort in knowing they are covered!  Lost or stolen card? Worried about purchasing online? You’re covered! Certain restrictions apply.  Visit Visa's website for more information.

Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver Program
ECU cardholders have coverage against collision or theft up to the actual cash value of most rental vehicles when certain terms and conditions are met.  You must use your ECU Visa card to completely pay for the rental of the automobile and the insurance offered by the rental agency must be declined.  Please refer to the Benefit Guide provided by Visa for more information.  To report an accident or if your rental vehicle has been stolen, please call (800) VISA911. 

Warranty Manager Services
This service provides ECU cardholders with peace of mind about their purchases and is available to Platinum Preferred cardholders. Warranty Registration, Extended Warranty Protection, and Performance Guarantee are provided with this program. There are limitations to this service and some features may cost the cardholder a nominal fee. Please refer to the Security Protection Guide provided by Visa for more information. Travel and Emergency Assistance Service
Travel and Emergency Assistance Service provide help when you need it and is available to Platinum Preferred cardholders. This service provides assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for the cardholder, his or her spouse, and their children. By calling (800) 992.6029, a Program Administrator will assist the cardholder or family member with referrals for medical assistance, legal council, transportation, cash advances, lost luggage locator service, ticket replacement, and many other services needed in an emergency situation. This service provides assistance and referral only. The cardholder is responsible for the cost of any actual medical, legal, transportation, cash advance, or other goods or services provided. Concierge Service
Platinum Preferred cardholders can enjoy privileges and conveniences like those found at fine hotels, right from their own home, office or travel destination. The service includes: Limousine reservations and “Meet and Greet” services, global dining referral and reservations, golf course information and reservations, performance and special events information and reservations, business-related research, and flower and gift delivery. Members may call 877.860.1099 for more information.

Travel Memo Feature
If you are going to be traveling, you'll want to use our Travel Memo Feature available under Secure Forms located behind ECU Online.  To avoid the possible interruption of debit or credit card usage while traveling away from home, please notify ECU before traveling.  You may submit the Travel Memo online or call 800.999.2328 during business hours.
