Giving Back to Members

ECU’s board of directors once again approved an Extraordinary Dividend to be paid to members in January 2025 bringing the grand total returned to $209 million since 1998.

ECU members receive Extraordinary Dividends based on the amount of interest they’ve paid on loans and dividends they’ve earned on deposits throughout the year. The more business members do with ECU, the more they can receive.

Supporting Our Communities

ECU and its employees have stepped up in many ways to help the communities it serves in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Helping members achieve homeownership is part of ECU’s daily work, and when ECU discovered that Appalachia Service Project (ASP) had applications for almost 200 disaster relief homes, it seemed like a perfect partnership. ECU is committing support that will make homeownership a reality to many families who lost their homes due to Hurricane Helene by donating $1 million to ASP, which will close the gap and complete funding for 30 to 40 homes.
