General Scams

Unfortunately, scams are everywhere - and they can show up when you least expect them. Here are some of the most common scams out there so you can stay protected.

1. E-mail Scams

E-mail fraud is one of the most common forms of digital fraud.  Even e-mails that look legitimate may not be.

Never click links or open attachments in e-mails or texts that seem unexpected or suspicious.

2. Romance Scams

Romance scams are very popular. Scammers create fake profiles on dating sites/apps and build-up a relationship, gaining your trust, then will request you to send them money.

This is one of the most common scams – and can be quite overwhelming.

Scammers prey on the unsuspecting.

3. Employment Scams

Employment scams occur when you receive a request from someone claiming to be a potential employer seeking a financial transfer or access to your financial account information.

Legitimate employers will never ask for this information.
