Eastman Credit Union Breaks Ground on New Johnson City Facility

JOHNSON CITY, TN – Eastman Credit Union (ECU) held a groundbreaking ceremony today celebrating the construction of a new branch at 2102 North Roan Street.

“The new Johnson City branch will offer an exciting transformation for this property and a fresh, modern branch for our members,” said Kelly Price, ECU’s President and CEO.

The 22,000 square foot location will serve as ECU’s newest Johnson City branch, while also providing additional corporate meeting space, lending offices, and future opportunities for satellite offices supporting various ECU departments. The project marks a significant reinvestment in the Johnson City community.

“This location will be larger than our typical branch, underscoring the expanded scope of the North Roan Street project,” said Price. “But this is about more than square footage—it’s an investment in a community that has played a vital role in ECU’s story for almost three decades.”

The new Johnson City location will feature an exquisite new rendition of ECU’s craftsman‑style brand, blending timeless architectural elements with modern design enhancements that complement the surrounding area and contribute positively to the local aesthetic.

“This building reflects who we are today and where we are headed,” said Price. “It honors the legacy of our brand while incorporating modern twists that will create a welcoming, energetic, and functional space,” said Price.

The new Johnson City facility will support consumer, mortgage, and business lending needs, while expanding ECU’s capacity for enhanced service delivery.

Improving financial well-being and building strong, lasting community relationships are central to ECU’s mission.

“ECU builds more than branches,” Price added. “We build trust, opportunity, and long-term partnerships that strengthen the communities we serve.”

In 2025, ECU contributed $1.3 million to organizations across its service area. Beyond these contributions, ECU gives back through multiple initiatives, including Casual for a Cause, its employee-led giving program, which has given $276,000 since the program’s launch in 2020. ECU also supports communities through paid volunteer time off for employees and expanded financial education opportunities. Through its partnership with Banzai, ECU currently provides financial literacy curriculum to more than 230 schools throughout the regions it serves.

This continued commitment to enhancing the financial well-being of members and strengthening community vitality remains a defining part of ECU’s mission.

The new Johnson City location will further solidify ECU’s strong presence in Johnson City and Washington County and is expected to open in summer 2027.
