    ECU Opens Allandale

    March 21, 2019

KINGSPORT - Eastman Credit Union (ECU) conducted a ceremonial ribbon cutting on Thursday, March 21st in celebration of a new branch on the corner of West Stone Drive and Netherland Inn Road in Kingsport in the new West Park development.

“The opening of this branch, which is ECU’s 26th branch location, will be the first of several ribbon cuttings planned this spring and early summer,” said ECU president and CEO, Olan O. Jones.

ECU’s membership continues to rise as the company added over 20,000 members in 2018.   With continued membership growth, ECU’s goal of extraordinary member service remains its primary focus.

Recently, ECU’s emphasis on service received recognition with two accolades in late 2018.  ECU’s Mystery Shop provider named the credit union Top Performer in the areas of competitive comparison, referral ratings, and emotional connection.  Also, ECU received a first place designation among the nation’s top 100 banks and credit unions in an independent review of Google Play and iTune app reviews.

“We are dedicated to serving our members in branch locations, by phone, and online with the extraordinary service they deserve and expect.  The greater Kingsport area is the heart of our operations, and it’s vital that we provide the appropriate expansion to meet needs at home as well as in our other service areas,” said Jones.

With 50,000 members in the Kingsport, Mount Carmel, and Church Hill areas, both Allandale and Mount Carmel branches are expected to stay busy.

The new, full-service branch will offer a convenient location as well as teller, deposit account, consumer lending, and mortgage lending services.  It will also include a night depository, drive-thru tellers, a drive-thru ATM, and safe deposit boxes.

Eastman Credit Union has been steadfast at members’ sides for almost 85 years helping them build strong financial foundations. Because ECU is a not-for-profit financial institution, profits earned by ECU are returned to members through lower loan rates, better products, fewer fees, and consistently competitive deposit rates.  Since 1998, ECU has given back a total of over $118 million to members in the form of an Extraordinary Dividend, which members received for doing business at ECU.
