Spray Fountain Reflects Eastman Credit Union’s Support of Longview Arboretum
It gives great pleasure to announce the culmination of a promise made when Eastman Credit Union committed to support the Longview Arboretum. At the winter ground breaking for Eastman Credit Union’s new West Loop 281 facility, the President and CEO, Kelly Price, presented a $75,000 check to Longview Arboretum board members. That gift designated a request to fund a spray fountain in the pond.
“Community partnership is important to us. Strong and vibrant communities are a great place to raise families and support positive economic growth. We are so happy to be part of the Longview Arboretum, in the heart of this community,” said Price.

In fulfilling the promise, board vice-president, Anne Hugman, researched the appropriate features to create a mesmerizing sound and visual effect for guests who follow the walking trail through the gardens to the pond. The flowering water feature delights those who pause for a few minutes to watch the turtles at the water’s edge admire the long views across the layers of trees, shrubs, and grasses. The LANC board expresses great thanks for the vision and generosity displayed by Eastman Credit Union and extends an invitation for locals and tourists to discover the newest element of this ever-growing garden.
During the inaugural Roots Concert Series in the gardens, guests attending to hear the Jazz Connection concert witnessed the debut of the fountain. In the five concerts following, the spray fountain provided a visual and musical backdrop for those performing at the Stage at Water’s Edge. The appeal of the fountain, in the background, is as a piece of active art. With Eastman Credit Union’s gift, another beautiful layer is added to the sounds, visuals, and textures available within the Arboretum; it’s a constant reminder of their support for Longview Arboretum’s commitment toward growing a better world.
Longview Arboretum and Nature Center, 706 West Cotton Street, is open Wednesday-Saturday, 10-5, and Sundays 12-5. Visit longviewarboretum.org for more details.
