      Summary


      Provide service excellence to members who elect to do business with ECU via phone and email channels. Maintain skills to assist members with most financial needs, resulting in first contact resolution. 

       
      Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

      • Provide ECU members with product and service information to meet their needs
      • Interact with ECU members to build relationships by offering exceptional member service
      • Analyze member needs, and promote usage of other ECU products and services as appropriate
      • Adhere to ECU policies and guidelines
      • Maintain thorough knowledge of ECU products and services, as well as related guidelines and procedures
      • Perform all service center responsibilities, as well as those related to opening and maintaining member deposit and loan accounts. Provide excellent service to members and assist with a broad range of issues with a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, courtesy, confidentiality, and professionalism – resulting in an organizational culture that provides value-added services that meet and exceed the financial expectations of our membership
      • Assist, support and serve as a resource to branch staff – inquiries, member issue resolution, online banking, Bill Pay, research, etc.
      • Participate in Member Service, Consumer Lending and Card Services Focus Teams and Head Teller Forums
      • Provide Web Support training in all new MSR classes
      • Serve as a role model for co-workers – professionalism, attitude, reliability, etc.
      • Proficiency in systems related to providing service (i.e. online account opening, CCM, Clean Entry, Contact Us, CST, Dealer Track, DocuSign, Digital Insight, FIS – Cards, Fiserv, Global Vision Systems (OFAC), GoToAssist, Harland, ID Connect, IS Research, Live Person (secure email and chat), Nautilus, ShoreTel, Velocity, Vertifi, VolCorp

      Central Underwriter Functions:

      The Central Underwriter is responsible for underwriting consumer loans using sound lending principles; reviewing loan applications and analyzing credit to assess risk; making loan decisions in a timely efficient manner; routinely serving as a resource for consumer loan officers.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

      • Underwrite loans
        • Maintain through knowledge of ECU products
        • Maintain knowledge of regulations regarding the Consumer Lending process and decisioning
        • Review loan applications for compliance with ECU policies, guidelines and procedures prior to decisioning
        • Identify and correct errors/omissions in loan applications to facilitate quality loan decision-making
        • Analyze credit data to estimate degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money
        • Maintain quality by using sound lending principles in decision making when approving, declining or making a counter-offers
        • Identify credit improvement and cross-sell opportunities when appropriate
        • Make timely decisions which includes escalating to the appropriate people in decision-making process
      • Resource
        • Review and analyze loan applications for accuracy and appropriate documentation in accordance with ECU polices, guidelines and procedures
        • Identify errors and missing information in loan applications and return for correction
        • Serve as a resource and mentor staff by answering questions, clarifying concerns, and offering alternative options to members.

       

      High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 3 years of lending experience or equivalent preferred.
